Transfer Students

Students currently enrolled in an HEC-recognized university/degree-awarding institute may apply to transfer their credits to NIT, subject to academic policies and seat availability. All credit transfer applications must be submitted at least one month before the start of a new semester.
Eligibility & Credit Evaluation
Credit transfer requests are evaluated on the basis of:
- Course similarity and equivalence: At least 80% alignment with NIT’s curriculum for the relevant discipline.
- Academic performance: Minimum CGPA requirements:
- 3.0 for undergraduate programs
- 3.5 for graduate programs
- Merit standing: The applicant’s merit must meet or exceed NIT’s minimum admission criteria for the relevant programme and intake.
- Recognized institution: The previous university must be HEC-recognized.
How to Apply
Step 1 — Initial Screening
Email scanned copies of the following documents to admissions@nit.edu.pk for preliminary review:
- Credit Transfer Request
- Course outlines and curriculum roadmap from the previous institution
- Official transcript(s) of completed semesters (signed by Controller of Examinations)
- Copies of all previous academic credentials
Step 2 — Departmental Review
The Admissions Office forwards your documents to the respective academic department for course evaluation and credit mapping.
Step 3 — Equivalence Committee Approval
NIT’s Equivalence Committee reviews the departmental recommendations and finalizes the credit transfer decision.
Step 4 — Decision Notification
The applicant is informed via email regarding approval or rejection of the request.
Step 5 — Verification & Enrollment
If approved, the applicant must submit:
- Original academic documents for verification
- NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the previous institution
Upon completion, the fee challan will be issued for enrollment.
