The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is proud to announce that it has been officially granted its Federal Charter, marking a landmark moment in Pakistan’s higher education landscape. The charter was formally handed over to NIT, recognizing it as an autonomous degree-awarding institution under the authority of the Federal Government of Pakistan.

This milestone reflects the trust and confidence placed in NIT’s mission to deliver world-class education powered by Arizona State University (ASU). As a federally chartered university, NIT is committed to upholding the highest academic standards while blending global excellence with local relevance.

With this charter, NIT is now fully authorized to launch its inaugural academic session in October 2025, opening admissions from May 2025. Students from Pakistan and abroad will have the opportunity to pursue cutting-edge programs in Management Sciences and Data Sciences & Information Technology, with pathways that include dual degrees and international mobility options.

The Federal Charter reaffirms NIT’s vision of shaping first-principles thinkers, self-learners, and future leaders who can thrive in rapidly evolving global industries. It also reinforces the university’s dedication to transparency, innovation, and student success.

This is not just a milestone for NIT, but also a step forward for Pakistan’s higher education sector—introducing a new era of academic excellence and opportunity.
