Farheen Akmal

Ms. Farheen Akmal is currently serving as a Lab Instructor and Research Assistant at NIT. She completed her bachelor’s degree in data science from FAST-NUCES Lahore. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on several impactful AI projects. Her Final Year Project, Interview Sensei, was sponsored by Nextbridge. This project focused on developing a digital human for AI-driven mock interviews, integrating LLMs, RAG pipelines, computer vision modules, and real-time analytics. The project received both inter- and intra-university awards, including wins at the FAST-NUCES Job Fair FYP Competition and SOFTEC 2025 Software Project Competition. She also gained hands-on experience in software development, with a particular focus on front-end application development. She worked as a Frontend Developer Intern at Axcel Sea Shipping Co. LLC, where she developed a complete Flutter-based mobile application for a UAE client using user-centered design approach and production-grade development practices. In her current role at NIT, she teaches and mentors students in programming and various applications of computer and information technology. She also assists with department-level research activities. Her broader interests lie in technology, data science, and emerging digital solutions. She enjoys staying engaged with learning opportunities that help her grow academically and professionally.
