Opening with the 2026–27 academic year, the NIT Dormitory offers a safe, comfortable, and convenient on-campus living experience at Pakistan’s first American university. Located just steps away from classrooms, laboratories, the library, and student facilities, you’ll have everything you need to settle in from your very first day.
Every room is fully furnished and designed for student comfort. Your accommodation includes water, electricity, high-speed internet, and 24/7 campus security, while dedicated housekeeping staff maintain all shared spaces to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. All accommodation costs are covered through a single, transparent fee charged per semester, giving you peace of mind without unexpected expenses.
The NIT Dormitory is available to newly admitted students beginning their academic journey at NIT, as well as current students transitioning from university-approved off-campus accommodation.

= $400 semester fee + $100 one-time refundable deposit. Every following semester: $400.

About your security deposit
Your $100 security deposit is a one-time payment and fully refundable — returned within 15 days of checkout, following a standard room inspection. It exists to cover:
- Damage to university property
- Loss of room keys or access devices
- Outstanding accommodation charges
- Unpaid fines or penalties
Any remaining balance is refunded after successful room inspection and completion of checkout procedures.

You are a registered and enrolled NIT student — new and current students both qualify.
Good standing
You are in good disciplinary standing with the university.
Dues cleared
All previous and current financial obligations relating to accommodation have been fulfilled.

Eligible applicants are automatically placed on the Dormitory Waiting List, processed according to:

- Availability of vacant rooms
- Completion of all eligibility requirements

Any registered and enrolled NIT student in good academic and disciplinary standing, with all previous and current accommodation-related payments cleared. Both newly admitted students and current students living in university-approved off-campus accommodation can apply.
Applications are submitted exclusively through the NIT Student Portal (SIS). Log in, open the On-Campus Accommodation module, complete the form, upload your documents, and pay the $100 one-time security deposit to begin processing.
Your Student ID card (or Admission Letter if you’re a new student), a recent passport-size photograph, a copy of your CNIC, your parent or guardian’s identification, emergency contact information, and a medical declaration form if applicable.
You’ll be notified through the Student Portal and your official university email. Your confirmation will include your assigned room number, check-in schedule, payment instructions, and resident onboarding information.
$400 per semester (PKR 112,000), covering your room and all included services. In your first semester you’ll also pay a $100 one-time refundable security deposit (PKR 28,000) at the time of application — bringing your first-semester total to $500 (PKR 140,000), with the $100 returned to you at checkout.
A fully furnished room, water, electricity, internet, routine maintenance, 24/7 security, access to kitchen and laundry rooms, and routine housekeeping of common areas.
Yes — and it’s a one-time payment, charged only with your first application. It is returned within 30 days of checkout, following a standard room inspection. Deductions only apply for damage to university property, lost keys or access devices, outstanding accommodation charges, or unpaid fines.
No. Meals and dining services are not included — along with personal belongings insurance, replacement of lost keys or access cards, damage caused by residents, and personal electrical appliances.
Three. All Year 1 rooms are triple occupancy, and each resident gets their own bed with mattress, study desk, study chair, and personal wardrobe.
Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and assignments may be randomized to meet operational requirements — so applying early gives you the best chance.
