Dr. Aamir Wali

Dr. Aamir Wali is a Professor of Data Science with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. A graduate of FAST-NUCES Lahore, he has served on its faculty for more than twenty years, contributing to the growth of computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science education. His research interests include machine learning, generative artificial intelligence, large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, human-computer interaction, medical AI, and low-resource language technologies. His work focuses on developing intelligent systems for healthcare, education, multimedia, and assistive technologies, with particular emphasis on multimodal AI, synthetic data generation, and resource-constrained environments, bridging fundamental research with practical, real-world impact.
Dr. Wali has authored numerous publications in leading international journals and conferences, supervised a large number of undergraduate, MS, and PhD researchers, and successfully led several nationally and internationally funded research projects. His research has advanced both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of artificial intelligence across diverse domains. An internationally recognized trainer and invited speaker, he has delivered workshops and professional training programs on artificial intelligence and machine learning in Pakistan, Iran, Thailand, Laos, Russia, and Azerbaijan, including a 2026 workshop on transforming foreign language teaching with artificial intelligence at Azerbaijan University of Languages. He currently serves as the Director of the Data Generation (DataGen) Lab, where he leads research on generative AI, multimodal AI, and data-centric AI to develop innovative, scalable, and socially impactful AI solutions.
