Hassaan Tariq
I'm Hassaan Tariq, and my path into academia has been anything but conventional — and that, more than anything, is what enriches my students' learning in the classroom and beyond. It began with an Engineering degree from NUST Pakistan, moved through the Oil and Gas sector at Halliburton, and continued with a Master's at the University of Warwick, UK (QS 68th, 2027) — where learning alongside practitioners and peers from over 80 nationalities reshaped how I think about education entirely. Industry roles at Lear Corporation, UK, supporting Jaguar Land Rover operations, and at BroadPeak Pakistan, engaging with companies across North America, followed before teaching pulled me in. My research sits at the intersection of sustainability and operational performance — published in Science of the Total Environment (IF 8.0) and the British Food Journal (ABS 1 / Q1) — and I am currently completing my PhD in Management at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (QS 130th, 2027 · AACSB Accredited).
Across eight years at GIKI School of Management Sciences and NUST Business School, I taught students from engineering, management, and science backgrounds — always with the conviction that complex ideas must be made accessible, not merely correct. My approach is evidence-based, grounded in current research and real cases, and deliberately anchored in indigenous business content from Pakistan. At NIT Lahore, what draws me most is the transnational model — you begin here and complete your degree at Arizona State University in the United States. I have made that international leap myself, and I know precisely what it unlocks. My aim is straightforward: ensure you arrive at ASU prepared, and leave it ready to lead.
