Saqib Farid
Saqib Farid is an academic, distinguished researcher, and entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience spanning higher education, research, and business practice. Throughout his academic career, he has held teaching and research positions at both national and international institutions. He has served as a faculty member at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, and Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore. Internationally, he worked as a Research Associate at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), United Arab Emirates. He has taught a wide range of accounting and finance courses extensively at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education levels. As a research supervisor, he has supervised more than two dozen MPhil theses. As an entrepreneur, Saqib Farid co-founded Sozulf, one of Pakistan's emerging hair care startups. As a business practitioner, Saqib Farid has also been actively engaged in modern agricultural ventures, including commercial farming, livestock management, and the dairy sector.
As a distinguished researcher, Saqib Farid has authored more than 45 research articles published in Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized journals, including leading journals ranked by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) and the Association of Business Schools (ABS). His research has been published in several internationally renowned, high-impact journals, including Energy Economics (ABDC A*; ABS 3), Energy Policy (ABDC A; ABS 2), Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization (ABDC A*; ABS 3), Annals of Operations Research (ABDC A; ABS 3), and Economic Modelling (ABDC A; ABS 2), among others. He has presented his research at numerous prestigious international conferences and has received multiple Best Paper Awards. Among his notable achievements is the Special Interest Group (SIG) Best Paper Award at the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Conference, organized by Babson College in collaboration with the International Council for Small Business (ICSB).
